Loaded Nachos

Loaded Nachos

The key to these nachos is the indulgent use of two different kinds of Original Herkimer® cheese. Making them in layers ensures that every chip will be fully loaded for maximum enjoyment.

1 bag tortilla chips
1 cup shredded Original Herkimer® Cheddar Cheese
1 cup seasoned ground beef or turkey, cooked
1 8oz. container Original Herkimer® Spicy Tomato Heat & Pour Cheese Spread
½ cup diced tomatoes
¼ cup sliced black olives
¼ cup diced onions
¼ cup diced jalapenos (optional)
Sour cream, salsa & guacamole for garnish, as desired

Preheat oven to 350°. Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Place single layer of tortilla chips on cookie sheet. Heat Original Herkimer® Spicy Tomato Heat & Pour Cheese Spread in microwave for 1 minute, stirring every 20 seconds. Pour half of Spicy Tomato spread over layer of tortilla chips. Top with half of the ground beef, tomatoes, black olives, onions and shredded cheddar. Make a second layer with tortilla chips and top with remaining ingredients. Cook in oven for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and chips are warmed. Garnish with sour cream, salsa and/or guacamole.

Variations:

Make it healthier by using whole grain tortilla chips, ground turkey, lots of your favorite vegetables, add black or pinto beans to pump up the protein, and use low-fat sour cream.

Love nachos, but not a fan of spicy? Instead of using Original Herkimer® Spicy Tomato Heat & Pour Cheese Spread, try topping with one of our other Heat & Pour varieties, such as Cheesy Bacon or Original Cheddar.

Swap out ground beef, black olives and jalapenos for chili and turn them into chili cheese nachos!
